LPG cylinder transportation safety technology

For the fire safety of the city, many LPG stations are located in the suburbs, so a large number of LPG cylinders are transported to the city's bottle receiving station or directly to various users by cars or other means of transportation every day. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is a flammable and explosive chemical. If it is improperly transported and an explosion fire accident occurs, it can not only cause vehicle damage and death, but also endanger the public safety near the transportation vehicles

I. Basic requirements

units (individuals) transporting liquefied petroleum gas cylinders must apply to the local fire department for a permit to transport flammable and explosive chemicals. Vehicles transporting gas cylinders should be equipped with dangerous goods signs and signboards. Drivers and escorts BASF who have made contributions to Landsea projects in Shanghai, Wuxi, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shaoxing, Chengdu, Wuhan and other places should receive training from the fire supervision department, After passing the training examination, get the safety training certificate (in some areas, it is called the work license). During transportation, the driver shall carry two certificates with him, the vehicle shall be equipped with two signs, and one to two dry powder fire extinguishers shall be equipped according to the size of the vehicle model. Fire caps (flame arresters) shall be installed on the exhaust pipe of vehicles entering and leaving the liquefied gas station. The fire caps can be configured by the owner or the liquefied gas station

II. Loading requirements

during loading, it is required to do five things: first, do not load air leakage bottles, second, do not load overweight (over loaded) bottles, third, do not load overdue cylinders, fourth, do not load overloaded vehicles, and fifth, do not mix other goods, especially do not mix oxygen, chlorine and other oxidizing substances. In addition, 15kg gas cylinders shall not be placed vertically for loading more than two layers. Ensure that the horizontal center line of the upper layer of the cylinder is below the upper edge of the car panel, and carry out necessary bundling to prevent the cylinder from rolling down during transportation

III. transportation requirements

during transportation, the following three points should be paid attention to: first, try to avoid roads with dense traffic flow; second, do not park in important buildings and densely populated places; third, try not to brake hard during driving

IV. emergency handling of accidents

LPG transportation accidents mainly include gas leakage and fire

there are five cases of air leakage, one is that the angle valve is not closed tightly, and 2.6 requires the motor to leak air from the bottle mouth when it is changed separately; Second, the angle valve packing failed to compress, and air leakage occurred from the packing pressing nut; Third, the angle valve cannot be closed tightly due to defects in the valve seat, valve core or valve rod, and the fourth is that the angle valve and the bottle body are not fastened tightly and the air leaks; 5. Air leakage due to defects, sand holes or cracks in the steel or weld on the body side. For the first and second cases, the air leakage can be stopped as long as the angle valve is closed tightly. After the gas leakage is stopped, it can continue to be transported. However, the gas leakage cylinder in the second case cannot be sent to the user for use. It should be returned to the liquefied gas station for disposal. For the third to fifth types of gas leakage, the transportation personnel shall not handle it by themselves. They shall quickly drive the vehicle to the nearest liquefied gas station and ask the professionals of the liquefied gas station to handle it. In this case, the driving shall avoid the areas with dense traffic and people

there are three main ignition conditions: one is ignition by air leakage from the angle valve outlet, the other is ignition by air leakage from the packing pressing nut, and the third is ignition by air leakage from the bottle body or other places. For the first two types, the fire will extinguish itself as long as the angle valve is closed tightly and the air source is cut off. If the angle valve cannot be closed, or the third type of fire occurs, the vehicle shall be parked nearby in a wide place, and the fire cylinder shall be lifted from the vehicle. Do not put out the fire, keep the cylinder in the position where the flame is sprayed upwards or laterally, and use a small amount of water to cool it from time to time to let it burn out

in case of a very special case that several gas cylinders on the vehicle explode and catch fire, and drive near densely populated areas or important resource infrastructure buildings with the development of graphene industry, do not stop the vehicle. Drive the vehicle quickly to a place with few people, try to overturn the vehicle, scatter the gas cylinders, and then leave the site, report the fire and warn the people not to watch
